how do you get dog urine stains off of hardwood floors?

i had a area rug on my hardwood floor and come to find out my dog has been pissing on it.i have urine stains under it.how can i remove them.

    Cover the hardwood with expensive persian carpets.
    Works every time.

    You’ll probably have to sand it down and start over. I would ask in the do it yourself section of Home & Garden on Y!Answers. We have to replace the carpet in our house because our dog likes to pee on my dining room table. Something in the urine does odd things to the varnish.
