It may be to late for this spill, however the nail polish and the remover have caused numerous accidents on carpets furniture, clothes sofas floors and so on…….. The best you can do is remember this, and sit in a place where the damage could not ruin anything, by putting an old towel on the surface and placing the polish and the remover in a flat dish. Then safely take your time and do your nail polishing, without danger of ruining anything. Believe me I have learned my lesson the hard way. Try calling a Carpet Cleaning Business and see what they use.

Any bottle of nail polish has two parts mixed in it: a stain and a top coat material. If you spill nail polish on your carpet, the pigment will stain the carpet fibers and the top coat will just cover it and make it hard. You CAN remove the topcoat by using nail polish remover, but the fibers in the carpet would remain the same. Unfrtunately, there isn’t much you can do unless your carpet is white, then you can bleach it after using the nail polish remover.

If it is a shag carpet, you can just cut the small fibers of the carpet … like a hair cut for a bad dye job. This might make it less noticeable.

At last resort, you could just get a rug to cover it up :) Hehe. Good luck!

gosh, i dont think its going to come out. try soaking it with nailpolish remover, like, pour it right on the stain.
thats the best way to remove nail polish, if that dosn’t work, i dont think theres anything else you can do.

I spilled black nail polish on my friend’s carpet once. If you get it quick enough, nail polish remover will work. If not, try oxyclean or another tough stain remover. Those usually work very well, though it might not come out all the way.

Oxey Clean or a wash vacum
