How do you get red wine stains out of carpet?!?

About an hour ago my buddy was drinking a glass of wine and then dropped the cup. Spilling wine ALL over my carpet. Whats the best way to get it out?!

    Use white wine it dissolves the stain – I am not joking I am serious.

    The only hurt is pouring good wine on the floor.

    i drop a whole bottle of red wine on the floor once and poured a bottle of white wine over it, thenpoured salt over stain as well. lightly dapped at it with a plain cloth (dont rub too hard as will ruin carpet). No sign of stain whatsoever.

    The traditional remover is club soda. I’ve heard salt suggested too. For set-in stains, try Oxy-Clean or a product with the same active ingredient.

    Immediately pour salt on the wine. Let it dry and then vacumn.
    Don’t be timid with the salt; pour right out of the box.
