How do you get rid of red kool-aid stains off the carpet?

I just found out that there’s this corner in the room where red kool-aid has been spilled. It’s approximately been a little over 2 weeks. I’ve tried drowning the stains with a lot of water, Tide, and Quick & Brite, but the stains are still there. Are there any other options how to get rid of these red kool-aid stains?

Thanks, guys.

The dyes in Kool-Aid, Gatorade and Jell-o generally result in a permanent stain. However, you can still try to remove carpet stains caused by these products. The newest technology uses peroxide and detergents to penetrate the soiled area to remove the stain and deactivate the odor. Simply spray a product such as Bio-OX Citrus Concentrate on the soiled area, and then allow it to penetrate for approximately five minutes. Using a clean white absorbent cloth, blot the area, pressing down firmly (do not rub) for 30 seconds. Repeat this blotting process until the area is dry. If the odor persists, repeat the process. Another option for cleaning carpet stains such as these is to use ordinary household ammonia and blot at the stain using a clean cloth. When cleaning carpet stains with ammonia, wear a mask or turn your head so you don’t inhale the fumes…

Chances are not too good to remove red stains that have been there for 2 weeks, but your best bet is with the stuff I mentioned in this answer I gave someone with a similar question a day or 2 ago:

I own some rental units and have had to deal with tenants leaving dirty and spotted carpeting for years. I have had professional carpet cleaners and done it myself on different occasions, but the best product I have found for removing spots – and you can use it over a larger, more widely-used area as you describe – is ChemDry® Professional Strength Spot Remover. (I have no connection with this company – I’ve only used their product). You can only buy it from a ChemDry dealer, but you can do a search for a franchise in your area. The cost is about $10 for a 22 oz aerosol can.

I also recommend for a heavily spotted area, instead of following the can’s directions, let it soak in for a while, then use a brush to rub the stained/dirty area, then spray it a second time.

This stuff works MUCH better than any carpet cleaning product you can buy in a hardware, grocery, or drug store, or anywhere else that sells this type of product. I’ve tried them all.

Try club soda. My friend’s mom removed red Kool Aid stains from her persian rug with it and I removed lime popsicle stains from my car upholstery with it. Just pour a little on and blot. Good luck.
