There are a couple of techniques. I used to use Mother’s Back To Black. It doesn’t change the color, just puts a nice even low-luster shine on the panels. You apply it and buff it off just like you would with wax on painted surfaces. There is another product called Aerospace 303 Protectant made for fiberglass and molded plastic boats. Same technique, but if you don’t get it thoroughly buffed out, it will streak in the rain.

If you’ve gotten wax on the panels, I understand that peanut butter does the trick (seriously). Above all, NEVER use Armor All on the panels. Over time it will degrade the plastic. Here’s a picture of what it does (right side) and how Back To Black fixed it (left side). http://i410.photobucket.com/albums/pp190/Geezer41/Car%20Stuff/Bumper_FullSize.jpg

The other poster is right… Mother’s back to black does wonders! If you have any quick detailer, that works too. Next time you wax, be sure to apply back to black on the plastic before applying wax… it helps prevent this from happening.

theres tons of trim treatments out there
just go to any auto store or wal mart or something

a lot of people who own elements use turtle wax ice polish
since the element has so much plastic
and the ice polish you can use on your paint, plastic, pretty much everywhere
    its easier that way

and even though they say its a polish its actually a wax

and no, although armor all does suck
it doesnt crack plastic or anything
that was 30 years ago, when dashboards suck, and it wasnt armor alls fault
its that people used them, and stopped using them
which caused the plastic to expand
    and crack
