How do you remove a grease stain from a shirt?

best stain removercleaning suppliesjanitorial suppliesremoving stains

I recently got a streak of grease from the lock of a door on my brand-new shirt. I tried soaking it and applying a stain stick, but nothing happened. Is there anything I can do, or do I have to trash it?

Thank you!

At the dollar store there is a product called "awesome". It is simply that. It has removed everything including blood, grease, grass, you name it. But then again, you can go to the hardware store and purchase a product called Laquer Thinner. Not paint thinner, but Laquer Thinner. It will get anything out of anything…just dont use it on plastic or it will melt it.

Try water softner directly on the stain…Borax. I know there is a home remedy that works; that may be it. If not Google the question and I'm sure you will get the ans.

I just put the liquid detergent on the stain and soak it. If its a white shirt try peroxide.

I have 3 kids and the BEST thing that I found that took out every kind of stain is OXY CLEAN but the powder not the spray.

I work in an automotive factory…I run a press. Oil and grease get on my clothes all the time. I use Dawn dish soap on the stains and it usually gets it out on the first try. I don't even rub it in…I squeeze it on and presto! But be careful not to dry in the dryer until you know the stain is out because the dryer most likely will "set" the stain. I hope this works for you! Good luck

using a grease cutting dish detergent, apply the detergent to the stain, then rub the stain, the grease cutters should start working instantly, after the stain is fully saturated, wash as normal….

You could purchase a small bottle of Tide with an electric scrub brush, which I have found at Big Lots, pre-wash the stain and add to laundry as normal. Hope this works for you..

NO don't trash it. Use a degreaser to remove grease. Spray something like WD40 on it and then use a lil dishwashing liquid which breaks down the grease even further. Scrub it a lil to loosen then wash as usual. It is sometimes necessary to repeat but not usual.
