How do you remove a wax pigment stain from a painted surface?

I have a red sented candle which overflowed on my mantle and left a red streak. I tried cleaning it with everything I can think of from abrasive cleaners (like the Mr. Clean eraser) and also tried bleach – nothing seems to work. Does anyone know of a way to remove this red stain from my mantle?

I had luck with one of those Mr Clean erasers and a bleach pen but since you have already tried that I will tell you what my mum used to do -
she used a paper bag and her iron set to a low heat. She placed the bag over the stain and ran her iron over it. The bag would absorb the wax.
    Good luck

You may need to work on the wax before you can get to the color. When the kids were small and colored on the wall I used aerosol hairspray on the "artwork" first to dissolve the wax, then a good strong cleaner on the color. This might be worth a try. You may still need to touch up the mantle, but that would work better if all the wax was removed first.
