Candle wax was spilled all over our tablecloth, and I was curious if anyone had a suggestion on what to do before running it through the washer.

Take another cloth (or paper towels) and iron out the wax. Some of the wax will be drawn into the other material. Use the lowest setting on your iron.

wait for it to dry, and peel off as much as you can. Then place several layers of paper towels on it and run a hot iron over it a couple of times, repeat as needed. The paper towels will absorb the wax.

If you have a large enough pot, boil the whole table cloth. The wax will melt and float on top. Simply skim it off.

Try the above recommendations but use a brown grocery bag.

I actually have tried a remedy that worked pretty well. First try to get out as much as you can with a plastic knife or something similar that won’t tear the cloth, next put doubled up paper towels on your ironing board, lay the T cloth w/ the wax spot on top of the towels and iron w/ a not too terribly hot iron.. you can repeat the process until most of the wax is gone! Good Luck & Happy New Year!
