Well, you can try scraping the nail polish off with your fingernails. That’s really your only option because any solvent that removes the nail polish will also remove the paint and finish from the furniture.

Nail Polish is simply extremely strong paint. Solvents that are powerful enough to remove it will also remove the white paint on your furniture.

A second option: sand the nail polish off with Fine Grit sandpaper and re-paint the furniture. Use a High-Gloss White Floor Paint for maximum durability. You could follow up with polyurethane if you want — but be warned –polyurethane vapors are very nasty. You really should apply polyurethane outside.

The polyurethane coating is optional, tho. I’ve painted my bedroom furniture white using High-Gloss floor paint and it has endured wonderfully…without a polyurethane coating. Floor paint is tougher than regular house paint and looks just the same, so it’s definitely the way to go with furniture.
