    well 2 months ago my daughter spilled a whole bottle of hot pink nail polish on her brand new white carpet ..did not tell me in till the next morning .. i was pissed .
    i went on line to a carpet cleaning site and read to put rubbing alchole on the stain and let it sit for 10 min. then use a white cloth to blot and then rub in a circular pattern ,, that worked great it took it all out and it dried fast and in a few hours the smell was gone ,, i think it should work for your stain as well.. i had bougt the cvs brand

    Try paint thinner. If that doesn’t work, you can always use scissors.

    Since most wood stain is oil based,a product designed for oil removal is best.Goo Gone is a great product for that.Also a product called Greased Lightning works wonders on grease and oil.
