Tip of the day: been drinking red wine all night, and afraid of stained teeth? No problem — simply drink a bottle of white wine before going to bed to eliminate those red wine stains.

Now, in answer to your question –

It’s just that white wine acts as a solvent, and white wine is clear — having no color pigments to deposit as does red wine.

You can also use distilled vinegar ("white" vinegar) or peroxide (test fabric in inconspicuous area for colorfastness) to achieve the same result.

No winos were harmed in the answering of this question.

the substance of white wine is pure and red wine is soft and easy to clean and red wine isnt a substance at all so it’s really easy to get of by white wine.

I don’t know why it works but it does. It must neutralize the stain somehow. Actually, soda water and tonic water also work as does champagne, but who’d want to use champagne to clean a stain!!!
