How to get a pine sol stain out of carpet?

best stain removercleaning suppliesjanitorial suppliesremoving stains

Without my knowledge a whole bottle of pine sol leaked onto my carpet forming a huge, toilet seat sized light orange stain on my beige carpet. The stain is now dry, I've tried scrubbing it with water and I tried Nature's Miracle, that stuff you use to get dog pee stains out but it didn't work.
What can I use to get it out?

Flush the area with plain warm water and use a carpet cleaner/shop vac/ carpet extractor to remove the water from your floor. It may take a few trys to get it all out.

    Good Luck! ;)

I don't see how it will ever be right. The pine sol went right through carpet to the padding to the floor. If there is perhaps a extra piece of the same carpet, your could cut out the stained section and drop in the new piece and glue it in (carpet installers can do this – check your yellow pages for water damage specialists) But if the carpet is older than 5 years it will not look the same.

Oh no. I agree with the above posting… it definitely went to the carpet padding. Without a doubt. Not only will this stink but it will keep the carpet nice and stained… Try going to this site… it has some helpful hints and tips on what to do about carpet, installing guides… if you can do it yourself then try…. maybe cut up a piece of carpet from a closet and install it over the stained piece… here's the site. Hope this helps you out!!!

You could try cleaning the area with Shout Stain Remover. Follow the directions on the bottle. But I really think you may have to shampoo that section of the carpet to get the pine-sol out of the carpet.

Yeah, you are going to have to pick the carpet up from the tacked edge and roll it back to the area of concern. Cut the soiled padding out and replace with new padding for that area. If you dont want to immediately try and have the carpet repaired which will usually be unenjoyable to the eye when its done, try to use clean warm…not too hot water and 2 clean(ish) white towels. Blot the carpet between the two towels one dry, one wet and try to transfer as much out. Do this with dry on top wet under, and reverse. Use fresh towels after the soiling is obviously transferring to the towels. DO NOT USE ANY OTHER CLEANSING AGENTS!! JUST WATER. DO NOT SCRUB, BLOT ONLY! You may be able to get it out but if your stain is in the middle of a huge rolled back carpet after cutting the pad out, be patient as its a real job to work with all that massive carpeting.
