What I do- take a regular laundry detergent, Tide, ERA, whatever, and pour a little on the spot. Rub it in with an old toothbrush. Let it sit for 10-15 minutes, enough to soak in, but not dry on the fabric. Wash it in COLD water. When I have a stain like this, I’ll wash it alone, or with one other item, so I don’t throw it in the dryer by accident. As long as you haven’t put in the the dryer yet . . as already said . . . you can still work on it. If the stain doesn’t come out with the first washing, try again . . .now that it is wet, go ahead and apply the Tide with toothbrush and let it sit overnight- try washing again. It can take 2 or 3 times of the process to get it completely out. If it is a light garment, you can also hang it in the sun as it’s drying- that will bleach the stain out a little. Good luck!

Any time I get a stain (such as chocolate) in my clothes, the first thing I do is use club soda (seltzer water) which wil prevent the stain from setting to start with. Then when I get home. I use stain remover and COLD water to wash it in. Make sure that your stain has been removed BEFORE you throw it in the drier, as the heat will set it in permanently.

Oxyclean works on EVERYTHING! And, yes, wash in cold and check before you put it in the dryer!
