How to get ink stain out of inside of dryer?

My son washed his jeans and put them in the dryer with a red ink ball point pen. The pen exploded in the dryer and the inside is now stained with red ink. I don’t want to wash anything else until I can get the dryer clean in case it spoils other clothes. I’ve tried a wet rag and a Mr Clean magic eraser. Any other ideas? I’m afraid to use something abrasive in case in ruins the dryer.

    I would think the Mr. Clean magic eraser would work. It’s worked for me in similar situations.

    Try Oxi Clean, it usually works on ink. I’ve also heard that hydrogen peroxide (the stuff in the brown bottle) gets out ink and blood. Haven’t had to try it myself yet, knock on wood.

    The best method by far for removing ink is rubbing alcohol. In a pinch you can try hairspray which is often touted as an ink remover. It is only the alcohol in hairspray that actually works and it will leave a sticky film that will have to be dealt with.

    try hairspray…..it works on ink spots on clothes…it could possibly work in the dryer…..or maybe some rubbing alcohol.

    I answered this similar question a few days ago:

    Gosh, I have done this more than once and ruined more clothes because of it.
    Because the heat sets the ink, I thought only a solvent would remove it. But I did find a more "natural" way.

    Lacquer thinner was my first attempt. Yes, it worked but the fumes are very strong. I wore gloves and a mask, but figured there was a better way. It’s actual dangerous working with lacquer thinner in a closed area, but I was desperate!

    Get ORANGE OIL. Pure, essential oil of orange. (Not cleaner with orange oil). It’s one of the cheapest essential oils, too. I buy it in quart brown glass bottles and use it for all types of cleaning, especially degreasing. This is the ingredient they add to cleaners, especially the commercial type.

    You can always find at least a one ounce bottle at your local health food store. NOW brand is sold nationwide.

    Use rubber gloves and an old white sock for the rag. This will tell you how much ink you are picking up. Pour the oil onto the sock and work in small areas, turning the "rag" as you pick up ink.
    It took off all the ink. Also worked for chewing gum.
    Maybe I should check the pockets first, YA THINK??

    I got blue pen ink off of my counters with fingernail polish remover. I think it was non acetone. I had only a few drops of it left and tried it for the heck of it and it worked, lol. Stunk though.
