how to get mustard stain off white jacket?

so i got a mustard stain on the sleeve of my white jacket and it wont go with regular detergent, it says in the tag to chlorine bleach when needed, is that to remove stains or is it to sterilize it. also, the jacket has some brown writing on it, would that be ruined if i bleach it, or should i just put bleach on the area stained, wash it off, then throw it in the washin machine?

Don't pour straight bleach on your jacket or it'll very likely eat a hole straight through the fabric. Fill a small bucket with water, then pour some (a couple of "glugs") bleach into it, then immerse the whole jacket in the bucket. Leave it for a few minutes, remove the jacket, then rinse in clear water. Launder as usual, but don't put it in the dryer until you've checked to see that the stain is entirely gone. If necessary, repeat procedure.

Pour straight bleach on directly on the stain then wash it as normal. This should take out the stain and brighten the white. You may have to do this a couple times to get it completely out since its already been washed before. The dryer will set the stain in more so if you need to rewash it, don't dry it, just rewash it again.

What I do when my toddler get stains on her white and colored chothes is put laundry detergent on them and soak for a day or more.

Use a fibre-friendly bleach (Javex makes one), so you don't weaken the area with the stain on it. If the writing on the jacket is a screen print, it might be okay. If it's embroidered, then bleaching will likely change the brown to pink! Be careful with that. Fibre-friendly bleaches are the safest way to go, and normally you can trust the washing instructions on the label. Don't put your jacket in the dryer until you are sure the stain is gone.
