How to get old pet urine stains out of carpet?

I have a horrible dog that pees when we don’t see and by the time I find them than they are dried. I have got a couple that are bugging me and really need them up. I have tried a rug washer and some stain remover but it didn’t work. I just want suggestions that people have tried and know work so I can finally clean this place up.

Hire a professional who uses pro’s choice urine stain remover and has experience removing them.

There are NO consumer products that can successfully remove the old stain.

The more products you try the less likely it will not come out.

Urine Stains are usually easy to remove unless the consumer sets the stains from consumer products!!!

I have used a product called Kids and Pets that I found at Wal Mart. It will remove the smell but if your carpet has already turned color it probably won’t restore that.

Nature’s Miracle, or Simple Solution, from the pet store, is the best for that, unless the stains are really old, and the ammonia has bleached the carpet.

  4. Jahann and Sons Persian Rugs says:

Urine stains that sit for a really long time go from being stains to being permanently dyed parts of the rug. Urine is basically a yellow dye if left there long enough. You may be able to use some dye removers to get this out, but be very careful, as dye removers used improperly can cause discoloration. If you can, call in a pro to help with this. What color is the rug?
