    The best way to get red wine out of a new sofas is to rinse with warm water and then blot clean with alcohol. For tough stains, pretreat with a commercial spot remover and then rinse. I hope this was some help. This is a great website for stain removal. http://www.savetimeandmoneyathome.com
    If you test this in a non-visible area first, it won’t matter what the fiber content is. I do know that if it is in clothes you can soak it with white wine and then rinse with cool water and then launder with an enzyme detergent like era.

    Before anyone can answer this question, you need to state the fiber content and cleaning code (W,S, WS, X). Or even if it’s leather.

    Here is the hands down best method which you can buy at most places that sell wine;
    "Wine B’Gone Stain Remover"

    In an emergency where you don’t have any store bought cleaner, here is a very good ‘homemade’ recipe:
    A little suitable soap
    A little hydrogen peroxide
    You must use BOTH ingredients
    Spray, pour, or dab the mixture on the stain
    One warning: Since peroxide is a bleaching agent, the remedy could potentially bleach some colored fabrics. Always test a small patch before going hog wild with this miracle recipe!

    Here is another wine stain removal that works good. You can buy it from Amazon.com:
    "Carbona Stain Devils #4 Fruit & Red Wine"
