    take it to a reputable dry cleaner. The stain may not come out. Some materials are runied when submersed in water and some stains will not come out unless cleaned with water. Just ddepends on the fabric.

    if it's a taffeta dress–i wouldn't bother. donate it to goodwill and get out of the 1980s for pete's sake.
