How to remove baby formula spit-up stain on couch?

Hello! My poor baby threw up an almost-finished 8 oz bottle of formula last night, all over me (no biggie) but also on my dark brown couch. Now the white stain is very difficult to remove! Any suggestions on how to remove this? All I have found when I googled "baby formula stains" or "protein stains" has been instructions on how to remove from baby clothes (as in laundry – not going to help me, can’t put the couch in the washing machine!)

Any help would be appreciated ….

If the stain is already dry, lightly brush off the powdery excess. Then take a small towel and get a bucket of cool water to which you add 1/2 cup of household ammonia and a bit of dish soap. Wet the towel and lay it on the stained area for 15-25 minutes. Remove the towel and start lightly rubbing the stain with light easy strokes. Constantly turn the towel to different areas to absorb the milk residue. Repeat until gone. When completely dissolved, rinse the area with cool water on another towel and then finally put another hand towel on the wet area and pat until all the excess moisture is absorbed.

Let dry or force the drying with a hand held hairdryer on cool setting. Dry from the outside of the water ring in quick concentric circles towards the center.

Try using some baby wipes. They’re good at getting rid of things like that, and they won’t be too rough on the couch.

if baby wipes or using a solution of oxy-clean and warm water does not remove this, then rent or borrow a carpet steam machine that has the attachments with it and steam clean the couch.
