How to remove rust stain from well water on white clothes.?

The backwash system and salt in the softener system did not remove the iron from the well water. This resulted in a faint orange tint to the white clothes. Is there any way to remove this staining, or just accept it and do white articles at a laundromat in the future.

To remove the orange tint to your clothes it may be a good idea to first add a small amount of bleach or suitable whitening detergent to your washing cycle. This will get your clothes sparkling white again.

A water softener system that you mention is normally used to remove "hard" minerals from water such as calcium and magnesium…it is unlikely to remove the iron from your water.

I would suggest to stop your clothes from discoloring again to install a water filter which will effectively remove the unwanted minerals including the iron from your water. You can pick up some good value ones these days and they are proven to work. Good luck!

We have the same problem, and it sucks.
You can use Oxi clean, but that doesn't helpt hat much in Rusty water.
You can use something called Iron Out, you can purchase it in the laundry aisle at your grocery store, it works well, but it can fade any colors.

We have just started taking our whites and light colors to the laundromat, it may cost a little to wash them there but it is worth it

I agree with the previous contributor it is probably worthwhile taking whites to the laundromat. Can you not fit some kind of filter to your water system?
