We have water filled with various minerals..if it stands unnoticed on white formica it results in a lightest tan stain

    I have the same problem. The only thing that I have found that really works is vinager and one of those sponge/scratchy things. This does work for me. Also, that spray bleach helps, but no quite as well. Good luck.

    try rubbing baking soda on it to remove with a non scratch scrubbie

    Yes, vinegar or oil are work the best with ceramic tiles. Maybe they will work on Formica also.
