How to stain a wood floor to cover pet stains?

best stain removercleaning suppliesjanitorial suppliesremoving stains

I ended up taking out my fathers carpet and found out that there are urine stains from a old dog they had, they are dark and round in a few places. Since the floor is in good shape except in those places I thought of staining it a dark color and it would cover the stains up. Has that worked for anybody else? Or did the urine stain darken with the darker color when appling? Any info pls? thanks alot!

Staining won’t work unless you sand the floor completely. The urine is UNDER the finish, and the stain cannot penetrate.

The urine stains will NEVER disappear. They MAY get lighter, but they will never be gone. The only way to make them less obvious is to stain the floor a darker color.

they sell some wood finnishes at the home depot, or Lowes, go get the matching color and paint it.

There is no guarantee, but a dark color is the only option. It will look alot better for sure. Throw rugs or runners can be used in locations that you dislike. Good luck.
