I have beige carpet and the bleach turned my carpet white in the spot where it dropped. I’m looking to sell my house and need a quick fix to this problem. Any recomendations will be appreciated.

This happened to me before. A carpet cleaning service was able to dye the carpet so as you couldn’t even tell. And, it was a large area where I had accidentally used bleach to clean the carpet (didn’t know there was bleach in the solution I was using). It wasn’t that expensive. I would try that route first.

Try to dye it but it can be tough to color match. There are professionals who can dye it. Try a carpet cleaning service.

You can have the spot "plugged." If you have a piece of the carpeting left over from installation, they can come back and cut out around the spot and put a new piece there…. you’d never be able to tell. This would cost around $50.00.

You will need to have the spot dyed to match the rest of the carpet but it may just be worth it as a selling point to replace the carpet in that room.

You could try contacting a carpet distributor (one who sells carpets). If you know where the carpet was bought, you could go & buy a piece and splice it in. This is a great way to fix burn holes left by careless tenants. Flooring is one of the most important things that buyers look at. They want a house that is ready to move into without the hassle of fixing it up after they move in. Fresh paint, neutral colors, nice floors. Clean. You can add thousands on to a house just with a few cosmetic fixes. Carpet is considered a cosmetic fix. My advice, get new. And make sure you pay special attention to the outside of your house. Curb appeal will make the difference in whether a person makes a decision to even go into the house. A couple hundred dollar$ is a small price to pay for cash back in your pocket. The housing market it not so hot right now. Make your house the best it can be.

I don’t think its worth fooling with, I don’t believe it will effect the price, if some one likes the house, that want stop them from buying it, think about it, would that stop you from buying a house? you can’t be sure seams want show if you plug it, it will depend on what type of carpet, and how good a job they do, I would leave it alone, you can not dye it to match exalty, better like it is,
    Good luck with sale.
if you have a piece of the carpet, have it where they will see it,in case they want to plug it, I would like to know what size the spot is.

If it’s not a big stain, just a drop or two you can get a permanent magic marker in beige and color carpet with it. I have burgandy carpet and it’s happened to me several times and it works great.
