the shower floor and restroom floor are made of outdoor stone tile. I know the only thing that erases mold stains is clorox but I don’t want it to drip on the tile floor because I’m afraid it will stain it or discolor it. I’ve tried SOS pads, vinegar, baking soda but nothing works like bleach does. That can i do I’m going crazy

Removal of mold from any material is dependent on the type of material and the degree of infestation present. In the case of drywall, for example, removal of mold includes the removal of the contaminated drywall. Treating drywall (even with bleach) may only remove the hyphae (the part of the mold grown out of the drywall from the mold roots) and its associated spores and fragments (toxins, etc.). Even if the bleach successfully kills the organism in the drywall the allergens, being the mold body, is still present in the drywall – meaning you can still have a release of pollutants into the air.

If you have tried to clean the surface without the success of removal then I would talk to a specialist, someone who investigates and writes scope of work. It may be something you pay an investigator to look at, write a scope of work, and do yourself. If the investigator thinks you need a remediator they may suggest so in their report to you.

All of my resource links have directories to professionals all over the United States that can help you understand more about cleaning mold and help you remediate mold.

One thing I’ll throw in here is that you need to make sure you have things in place that will help you control moisture levels in this room. Running the exhaust fan, for example, while taking a bath or shower (allowing it to run for fifteen to thirty minutes there after your bath or shower) will help move water molecules so mold growth is less likely.

Why don’t you stick with bleach then?

Use bleach and cover the floor with old rags, try to only use small amounts of bleach, should be ok.

Cover the floors with plastic, like garbage bags split at the seam, use the bleach clean it up and save the plastic in a bag for next time.

Bleach will not discolor your tile…plus when you use it, it will be diluted.
