I have a ‘reappearing stain’ in my carpet, what do I do?

a stain about 2” in diameter comes out of my carpet, but reappears after about a week. Is there anyway to remove it without getting new carpet? I have no idea what the original stain is.

Bicarbonate of soda works well on most stains, this there Very good stuff also that you can buy in shops, its like a foam moth, and all the stains just disapear – Really good stuff!

You might get away with replacing the patch of padding underneath, if that has whatever it is soaked into it. Or it might be something growing there, in which case you might have to take more aggressive measures.

Look up and see if there’s a leak in the ceiling too. :)

You can buy what is called a cookie cutter used to cut a circular portion of the carpet out. Then cut another piece from the back of the closet and switch them. yopu then glue them down.

Call a carpet cleaner they can do repairs also.

Try cleaning with some water & Oxy Clean.
Another good stain remover is Biz.

Since you don’t know what the original stain was I can’t promise this will work but I read this article http://www.associatedcontent.com/article/311413/how_to_clean_your_house_with_baby_products.html about using baby wipes to get stains out of the carpet. I know it sounds weird but I did try it on some old pet stains and after scrubbing for a couple minutes it came right now and never came back. Since your stain keeps coming back it might be something soaked into the padding in which case this probably won’t work but if you already have baby wipes in the house you may as well give it a try. Good luck!
