I have an old candle-wax stain on my carpet. How do I get it out now?

Several months ago, my candle spilled onto my carpet. I've been lazy about removing it, and now as I'm about to move out of my apartment, I have to remove it so that my landlord doesn't fine me. What do I do to get rid of it?

Place a piece of brown paper bag over the spot and press the tip of a warm iron over the area until the wax melts and attaches to the paper. You may have to do this a couple of times. In between, take a butter knife to work the wax up to the top of the carpet. Make sure you don't touch the iron directly to the carpet.

Hold a blow dryer close to the wax & as it melts a bit, scrape it up with a plastic knife or an old credit card. Take your time in heating the wax.

Scrape off as much as you can with a butter knife, then put a paper towel over the remaining wax and run a warm iron over the spot, use a new towel as more wax melts. It worked for me, anyway…

place an old cloth on spot, run a heated iron over cloth. the hot iron will melt the wax.

I believe the previous answer about the brown paper bag and the iron will work the best. I moved into a house that had a HUGE area of melted wax (the size of a dinner plate), and used the paper bag and iron trick. It got out about 98% of it because the carpet was indoor/outdoor carpetting (nice, huh?).

If your area is fairly small and any other type of carpet than the kind I had, you should still do very well with the brown paper bag and iron solution.

    Good luck to you!

Use a comb and comb it out..may take a few minutes but it will come out !You may have to use a lunch paper bag and an iron to heat it up just to loosen it a little.. If it was a color candle the color may have already stained the rug…but Resolve works miracles…good luck…

Put ammonia on it and wiat 2 minutes, then rub off, if it doesnt get it all up, try again.

ice, put some ice cubes on it to freeze it and it should pull right up.
