I have well water that is visually clear…when bleach only is added it turns very yellow and stains laundry?

Additionally: the hot water has a very strong sulfur smell.
I use "iron out" salt formula in the softner
well and the equip. all are less than 3 months old

    My guess is either your salt or what sulfur is in the water is reacting with the chlorine in the bleach. Try not using the softener for a few loads to see if the salt is the reactant, if not you may have to get a purification system to clean whatever is in the water itself out.

    Yup, My buddy had well water, put up a pool and added the chlorine ant the water turned brown ewww.
