The best way to restore color to your shirt is to dye it with Dylon™.

Naturally, if you dye the shirt, it will be completely black…if it has any sort of decal on it, that will be dyed as well.

If you do decide to dye the shirt, I do NOT recommend using Rit™ Dye. I once dyed a pair of jeans with Rit and they turned my legs black every time I wore them — even after many washings. I finally just threw the jeans in the trash.

In addition, if you dye the shirt with Rit, you will always have to wash it alone. Rit runs all over everything in the wash.

If you’d like to buy black Dylon here is a shopping link:

Once you have the shirt back to black, wash in cold water and hang to air dry every time you wash them. This will help keep the color from fading.

Get a Sharpie or a Magic Marker and get to coloring!

I got a little spot of bleach on my new purple shirt. I went out to Wal-mart and got myself some fabric paint. It is in a bottle about 5 inches high. The top of it goes up to a point. You can squeeze just a little of it at a time and use maybe a Q-tip to smooth it on. I can’t remember what I used, but it works just perfect. I can wash and dry my shirt and nothing has happened to it. Must have washed it and dried at 15 times or more by now. It will not come off. And the shade I got colored over the bleach mark just great! Costs about $3-4.00.

Go to hobby Lobby or Michaels and get some black fabric paint for it.

Your best bet is to invest in some Black RIT Dye.There are directions inside the box! You can do this in your washing machine or on the stove. Fill washer with HOT water, add dye, Add Salt, I don’t know why, but salt helps the dye set better as well as the heat You are going to put to it! Let washer agitate for a couple of minutes, then let soak for 1/2 an hour. You will want to run an empty cycle with BLEACH in your machine after dying though. Dry on HIGH heat to help set the dye.

You don’t want to use fabric paint, as it will be noticeable. AND I have never heard of a Dry Cleaner that dyes ANYTHING!!

    Good Luck!
