If mold gone if the stain is still there?

We have a memory foam mattress that when we turned over, we found there was a huge circle of mold underneath. We dried out the mattress, vaccumed it (which took some mold off), sprayed it with vinegar to kill the mold, waited 30 minutes, sprayed it with water and then soaked the water up with some paper towels and vaccumed the area again. There is still a mold stain but it is lighter in color.
If there is still a mold stain does that mean the mold is still in the mattress? Or can mold have died but still leave a stain?

Mold stains are permanent. Nothing removes them

Use the proper mold killer to assure it’s dead, and make sure the mattress is totally dry, or you’ll grow it all over again from the new moisture

get a spray bottle put 2 prats water n 2 parts bleach and spray that on the area lightly n it should help

Mold can stain. Even if the mold is gone, the stain remains.
I would use either hydrogen peroxide or borax on the area. Vinegar is good but wont’ kill as many strains of mold as these other two.
