Iron rust stains from outside garden hose faucet? How to eliminate?

I have an interior water softener, but all of my outside spigots are not connected to it. When I water my lawn and the water hits the gas pig (white) or the siding (white) it puts a light rust stain on them, which doesn’t wash off very easily.

Is there a simple way to prevent those stains…other than the obvious-not letting the water hit those things, lol….??
Thanks.

Products such as CLR and Lime Away can remove the stains. I am not saying it is easy, just possible.

you could reposition the water softener so that the outside spigots were connected to it.

I would move spigots away from house. I feel that you have a nice home. So automatic lawn sprinklers are out of the question > And connecting water softener would be to costly to maintain. Remove stains with acid.
