Is it possible to get a fabric marker stain out of a shirt?

I was using a Sharpie Laundry Marker to write names on some clothing when I accidently made a mark on one of my cotton shirts.
Is there any way of getting it out?

I think you’re pretty much screwed. Sharpie Laundry Markers work so very well because they’re designed to be permanent. If it’s a white shirt, or in an inconspicuous area, you might try Goof Off or a 50/50 mix of bleach and water.

I have had success with rubbing alcohol. Sponge the area from the back side and a clean cloth under the front side Keep an eye on the u
under cloth and move as it removes the ink until all the stain has gone. If you use a white terry cloth (face cloth) you can rub it towards the end of the removal. (don’t want to spread the ink to a bigger area)

I called up the Sharpie company (aka Sanford) when I dealt with a permanent marker stain on my carpet. My daughter decided it would be a fun place to draw! Anyways, the Sharpie people recommended a product called the "Amodex Ink and Stain Remover" and I went through their website and ordered the product. I waited 2 days and did not use any other products on the stain. After rubbing it in with an old toothbrush the product began to break down the stain and I was able to blot up most of the ink on my 1st try! After a second coating it fully removed the stain. Here is their website:

You may be able to find it in some stores too (which are listed on their website)…this product is my new favorite and I have since used it on multiple stains! I hope this helps
