Is there a way i can bleach stain denim with baking soda only?

i want to bleach stain a pair of my shorts b/c apprently blached denim is "in"… is there a way i can do this w using baking soda only?? like mixing with water and pouring it on or something?? Thanks!!

    No baking soda will not bleach the shorts. The only thing that is going to bleach them is Clorox. If you use Clorox, the bleaching will be unpredictable. You might get streaks or spots…but maybe that’s the look you want?

    Another alternative: Wash the shorts in Hot water with your regular laundry detergent. This alone will fade them a little. For extra fading, dry them in your dryer. (Your dryer will age them a little in addition to fading them.) This method will give you a more uniform fading.
