We had that happen and we have a dark carpet. It was awful. A four inch in diameter white spot in the carpet and right in the center of the room where we couldn’t have a piece of furniture on it.

One day I went to the grocery store & bought a box of Rit Dye the color of our carpet. I mixed about a 1/2 teaspoon of dye with enough water to make a thin watery paste. It was only a couple teaspoons. I dipped a wadded paper towel in it and rubbed it into the spot. I repeated until the entire bad spot was covered.

I couldn’t believe the result! When my wife came home I told her to find the spot. She did but really had to hunt for it. It has lasted over a year and I still have to really look to find it. You won’t believe how well it works.

Rub some dirt into it? Ha no… just put something over the top of it. Or you could look for some fabric dye.

Been there done that! (Bleach stain looked better than dog puke stain though ;-)

Nope – you jus tneed to buy a throw ;-)

color it beige..hehee..I once spilt cranberry juice on a pink carpet..it blended well. hehe

  10. JeffyB says:

If it was bleach spilled, it’s probably not a stain. It probably changed the color of the carpet permanently. I don’t think that can be fixed.

if it is a bleach stain then they do have the marker that are for bleach stains!! pink stain on beige carpet try to wash it is that does not work i do not think that you are going to get it out…. just put a peice of furnisher over it (because it is not going anywhere)

This might sound like a really bad idea, but it works. If you can get a Sharpie pen the same color, or even close to the same color as your carpet you can use it to fill in the spots. It’s permanent ink so it won’t wash or vacuum out. I’ve done similar to a chair with a stain on it, matched the color as close as I could and filled it in, it’s not as bad as it was, but it aint perfect either.

i just set my sofa over it!!! lol

  16. gekker says:

You can buy fabric dye, I think it’s called Rit. They even sell it at the grocery store. Find a close color match and give it a try.
(yes Rit, not Rid, Rid is for lice yes?)

  17. BrownShirt says:

Use a colored marker on the bleach mark. It might not be a perfect match, but should look better than a bleach stain.

  18. Confused says:

contact a carpet installer. sometimes they can stan match the discolored area to blend in and match the surrounding carpet.

they can also patch in a new piece of carpet if they can find the color and shag. (go cheap and get cheap… call the baet and have it done right)

  19. sissypiepie@sbcglobal.net says:

Get a rug to cover it up with if you don’t want to spend money on expensive carpet cleaners or… new carpet!

  20. sneakerbabe2 says:

Try matching the color with some RIT dye sold in most grocery stores.
