Is there anything that can be done about a bleach stain on a shirt?

My stepmom spilled a drop of bleach of my favorite shirt ever while she was doing laundry, and so now there’s a reddish-brownish spot on my purple tee. Is there anything I can do to fix it? It’s a deep purple. It was a Lucky tee shirt that was pricey (, it’s embroidered by hand too) and I can’t just replace it. Tips?

I’m so sorry. But no. You could try to get something cute embroidered over the bleach spot if it’s in a good spot for that kind of thing.

To call it a bleach stain is kind of misleading. Bleach doesn’t stain. The dye that your shirt was colored is the actual stain – but an intentional one. Bleach removes the color (or in your case, certain parts of the color and left the reddish brown behind).

Trying to dye it back would only result in a spot where the bleached spot is that may be closer to the color of the shirt – but it’s doubtful (VERY doubtful) that you would ever be able to get it to match well.

You can use it as a rag.

You might try to dye the spot to make it less noticable.
