I’ve cut my hand on some glass and have a large blood stain on my cream carpet. I had used bleach but the stain is around a meter and a half by a meter wide and won’t seem to come out. does anyone have ideas for removing blood from carpet?
it’s a bad cut

Peroxide – works every time :-)

Nice story…you’re not a serial killer by chance, are you?

A meter and a half? Are you SURE you just cut your hand and didn’t uh… cut it OFF by accident?

I’d say just roll the body up in the carpet rather than try to get the stain out. Besides, you look less suspicious dumping a body when it’s wrapped up.

I had a brother come to my house after having surgery and he hemorrhaged on my carpet so much I thought for sure I’d have to have it replaced. I didn’t even get to it till the next day…..so, now it’s dried in blood. I sprayed the stain with ALOT of Shout laundry stain treatment. I left it on at least a half an hour. I then started to work the Shout into the rug with paper towels. I sprayed Shout again and worked it into the fibers with a brush. I also used a white cloth and cold water and kept cleaning the stain. Once I had it pretty well up with the Shout, I used Oxy Pet Stain remover in a can. You would never know it happened. However, I have just recently found a product called Folex carpet stain remover at Home Depot. It says it’s for pet accidents, grease, ink, red wine, coffee, blood, rust, food stains, cosmetics, dirt, grime, most old stains and is even good for upholstery. I’ve used it on blood stains which I have also pretreated with Shout and it has worked very well. But, the blood was fresh, so that may have made a difference. It’s new to me, so I can’t say how good it is as of yet. But, the Shout and Oxy Pet Stain Remover worked on day old massive amounts of blood I had on my carpet. You do have to work at it, but, it comes up with those two cleaners.

    Yeah.It sounds like a huge stain. Here’s your fix….

Use either a bottle of Oxi-Clean spray cleaner OR some peroxide mixed w a little bit of water in as squirt bottle. Spray, blot, rinse, repeat. The Oxi-clean has a main ingredient VERY similar to the peroxide/water. Either one will work. Let the bubbles die down before you rinse, blot, repeat. With blood, they will bubble a LOT…only means it’s working. ;)
PS…When you blot, don’t rub…just press and absorb the stain firmly with a white towel. Trust me…I have two very sports-oriented kids who get cut up all the time! We’ve figured out a solution, and it’ll work for you, too!! :)

I use Chem-Dry Carbonated cleaner. Just spray it on the spot, let it work a few minutes & blot it up with a white cloth. Done…
