My deck is stained red and I hate it. Is there a way to remove the stain to get the original wood color?

It will take powerwashing with a good power washer..not one o0f the little cheap electric ones…There will be a considerable amount of sanding aftert you strip all of the stain and then let it air dry a cou[ple of days…if you are not familiar with a heavy duty power washer I recomend letting a professional do this for you can eat right through the wood..it is going to raise the grain on the wood and make quite a few burrs sticking up after washing..this is why sanding will be required..Power washing can be a great procedure on removing stain like this, but as mentioned..if not well experienced at a power washing job requiring a TOTAL STRIPPING..this tool can be your worse nightmare as well

Stain, unlike paint, soaks down into the wood itself. So there’s nothing like paint-remover that works for stain. Unfortunately, you will have to either sand it off, or stain over it with a different shade to reduce the redness, or paint over it.

You cannot get rid of the stain with out destroying the wood, Your best solution is to sand and re-stain to a color that is close to natural.
(I worked in a factory that made "redwood" patio furniture and the stain will permeate the wood, the only way is to re-stain/paint to your desired color)
