My landlord is trying to charge my deposit 250+ materials for a small pot sized grease stain on a couch?

I think that is unreasonable and have been trying to negotiate with them but they are adamant about raping my deposit, any advice?

    actually 250 is not much. You have any idea how HARD it is to remove grease…if they CAN remove the grease? They may need to buy a new couch!! Next time you drop grease on the couch get some cornstarch pour on enough to cover the soiled area and let sit for 30 minutes to an hour. Vacuum to remove the grains.

    Have you tryed putting anything on it to lift it? Try oxyclean. poor a fair amount on the stain, rub it in with a wet rag and let it sit. then wash it off with a sopping wet rag. air dry.

    How old is this couch?Depreciation of the value of this couch may far exceed the value of buying a new one.Offer a price to clean and be done with it.
