Nail polish cracked on kitchen tiles….?

best stain removercleaning suppliesjanitorial suppliesremoving stains

I was keeping my nail polish in my refrigerator. When I opened the door, the nail polish flew out and shattered on my tile floor. I was able to get it off the tile, but it has stained the grout! I have used nail polish remover, and a bunch of other cleaning supplies…..but no such luck! Any suggestions on how to clean the grout!!! It makes me sick!

Why would you keep nail polish in the fridge?

If nail polish won’t get it off, you will probably have to use a sander and maybe re-grout. :/

  2. sugar candy says:

Fingernail polish contains chemicals that can quickly ruin the surface. Immediately scrape up any excess spill. Dab the area with a cloth dipped in amyl acetate and rinse, but this stain may be permanent.

    OR

Wipe up the excess immediately. Wipe the area with a cloth dampened with acetone. Rinse with a damp cloth and wipe dry. If any stain remains, make a poultice of water, 3% hydrogen peroxide, and a mild powder detergent. Apply the poultice to the stain and cover with a damp cloth. When the stain has been bleached out, rinse thoroughly and dry.

grout is way too porius to clean polish out of it, you will have to regrout or use a touch of matching paint.

go ask the ladies at walmart in the cosmetics, i used to work there and i swear i couldnt get the nail polish stains off the ground with nail polish remover but the ladies that had been there a while could. i never asked how, all i can think of is try paint thinner

you could buy grout stain from any specialty/tile store. They have plain white and custom colors to match your grout. You just paint it over the nail polish….

Scratch it out and re-grout, it’s the only way to do it.

You can get small packs of grout from the hardware.

    Good Luck.

I keep my nail polish in the fridge too, but I have a box for the bottles…anyway. Try using acetone on the grout. If that doesn’t work, try sanding the grout lightly with fine grit paper.
