Nail Polish Remover- Stained Wood Surface?

Missed the part about staining wood surfaces. I stained my whole kitchen table, the whole bottle over the whole thing. Some parts are better than others, but the worst is very light tan/white with darker brown marks where you can tell where the wood was. I believe the table is a cherry/pine type, anything I could do other than stain it? Now before you say something like, "Read the label, dummy!" I just wanted you to know that it was a complete accident. Any ideas?

No. You’ll need to refinish the table. The nail polish remover breaks down the chemical bonds in the finish and causes it to weaken and dissolve — which is exactly its purpose on painted fingernails.

You can’t "wash off" the remover. The damage to the finish is already done. You’re going to have to strip/sand the table and refinish it.

Or, you could get a nice tablecloth!

You could try and wash the table with lots of clean water.
