Nail polish stained nails?

So I’ve been wearing this dark green nail polish for a couple of weeks now and just removed it. Unfortunately it has turned my nails a ghastly yellow. Any tips or strategies to remove the stain?

    I had the same problem with a dark green, it was terrible. First of all throw that nail polish in the trash, as it is terrible. I could never fix it, and just wore other colors to cover it up while it lasted, but it is always a good idea to test a nail polish by putting on half of the tip of a fingernail, and removing it half an hour later, if it stains don’t keep it, if it doesn’t then it probably won’t stain it ever.

    Also, the bull about nails turning color from lack of nutrition is total bull. Nail material is dead form the moment it is created, the only time a lack of nutrition of any kind (including air and sunlight) will hurt your nails is if you are suffering from scurvy, and then it is because the nails are made poorly and yellow, not because they were painted. However thinning a nail by repeated surface filing, grinding and buffing things the nail, which can lead to misshaping and an unhealthy nail bed, which can become yellow and pass on the color.

    this happens to me all the time, especially when i wear red. file it with a nail file until all the yellow is gone. then just wash it off and buff it. put a few layers of clear coat on. keep putting on a layer of clear coat for a few days. it should be fine after that. make sure you use a clear coat before you put on a nail polish color.

    Nail polish remover. If that doesn’t work, try rubbing lemon juice with a cotton ball on your nails.

    Next time you use a dark color, use a base coat first. If you don’t have a clear polish, just use a light color you know won’t stain.

    Nails are stained be because of lack of vitamin d, sunlight. You will just have to wait until the stains grow out. Lemon juice MIGHT work. Hope it does, in future wait a few days before reapplying another coat. Nails need the sun.

    just don’t wear polish for a while and cut your nails really short
