If your tub is porcelain, then you can use an acetone based nail polish remover. If your tub is fiberglass, then I would approach this project with a less volatile method. Try a non-acetone based nail polish remover. I don’t care for them but they make them for the ‘green’ community. The product is less powerful and takes more time to get the nail polish to dissolve but it will eventually remove MOST of the nail polish without damaging your fiberglass tub.
