Is there a pet stain and ordor remover in a commercial product or homemade recipe that really works on both that I can use on carpeting? If there is a homemade version where can I get the list of ingrediants to make my own and how to use it?

You do not need to buy anything expensive. The ingredients you need are baking soda, vinegar, dish washing liquid, and hydrogen peroxide. This will work on both the stain and the odor. Many people swear by various commercial products and you could buy something from a pet store or from a vet, but this recipe will work just as well and won't cost as much.

    Best of luck with it.

I bought a 75$ carpet cleaner from wal-mart and just used their pet odor remover (I had 2 puppies) and it worked very well. I don't know if you wanted to spend that much.. but I think it's worth it for a house that doesn't smell like animals.. I don't know anyone who wants that.

You might want to try this it worked well when we had cats.

    1. First sponge or wipe the area with warm soapy water.

    2. If this does not get the entire stain, try this solution:

    1 part water

    1 part lemon juice.

    3. For fresh urine: clean the spot with any good carpet shampoo. Then soak it with plain old club soda, leave it for about ten minutes and blot it up

    Good Luck!
