Pet urine stain on carpeting?

best stain removercleaning suppliesjanitorial suppliesremoving stains

My dog had a little accident onto the beige carpeting of our den this past weekend. I cannot get rid of the stain or the smell, despite steam vacuuming it and applying Resolve stain remover to the area several times over the past 3 days. Any advice from vets or dog owners out there?

I work in the pet industry, Urine-off is the #1 vet recommended brand. It is supposed to work on old stains and most importantly it is supposed to keep the dog or other dogs from re-marking the spot.

Spot Shot!!! It is a life-saver. I am currently potty training my Doxie, and spot shot works wonderfully. Use paper towel to blot the urine spot. When you feel like you have most of it soaked up, spray the Spot Shot on the stain. Wait for a few seconds (if the stain just happened, you should probably wait longer if it is old) and then blot the spot until most of the moisture is absorbed. If there is still a smell sprinkle Baking Soda. (spot shot does have a bit of a smell when it is wet) Good luck!!

I’ve had good luck with a product called "Nature’s Miracle" which I get at PetSmart in the cleaning section near the dog stuff.

It sometimes takes 2-3 applications, but it’s always worked on even my worst organic messes.

resolve is good for food stains…not pet stains.

for the stain it self…you might have to dish out the bucks for a professional cleaning.
if ya can’t afford that right now, but want to do something about the smell until you can.
BOILING HOT water in a shampooer…w/vinegar.

There is a product called "Urine out" that I got at Target.
It works pretty good. You have to let it soak into the pad of the carpet to get all the odor out.
I would clean it up to remove the stain with this product, then pour onto the spot and barley blot it up. Yes, it will stay wet for awhile, but you have to soak the pad to get rid of the smell.

I’ve tried it, and it works.
    Good luck!

depend on how big the dog is too. The scent is a very difficult to get rid of. Mix baking soda and luke warm water together then pour it over it let it set for 5 min. and get a dirty towel and set it on top of wet area to absorbe the wetness. see if that works, if not it may already settled into the carpet and under foam. You might have to replace it, hopefully not!

In future they sell a spray called STAY OFF TRAINING AID made buy Hartz you can find it any pet dept. store good luck!
