depends on what the kool aid stain is on. If it is on fabric (and you have not heated it or dried it in the dryer setting the stain), you can pretreat the stain using All with stain lifter on both sides of the fabric with a tooth brush. Allow to sit a few hours or over night then wash as usual in cold water. It should come right out or at least allow you to repeat the steps. If it is in a hard surface, you can grab a canister of BarKeepers Friend from the cleaning aisle by the Comet and AJax (gold canister and it works on everything). Wet the area and sprinkle on then scrub with a 3m scrubber pad such as scotch brite or dobie or an old tooth brush and then rinse away or make a paste and scrub it in then rinse away. This stuff has saved my laminate counters from blueberry stains, kool-aid stain and my sinks from rust, calcium, lime and even coffee and tea stains.

you set it with the iron. sorry. put a peice of furniture over it and call it a day. next time it happens immediately get the salt. my grandma told me about it and it works. I keep LOTS of salt around. as soon as you see the stain (it has to be really wet but liquid only no goopy stuff) dump tons of salt on it. wait until it turns a bright color and dries than scoop it off witha spatula or something. it should be hard. no stain! my kids dumped a pitcher of grape juice on a white carpet and everything came out.

What is the stain in and what is "the old iron trick?"

Red food dye needs a reducing compound. None of the things listed above are this.

Try Soda water when the item is dry. Pour the soda water directly onto the spot. Then, try SHOUT stain remover on top of that! Spray the crap out of it with shout & try washing it in TIDE…if that all fails..nothing will get it out sorry!

For future purposes get a toddler pre wash stain remover, I use it on everything even my hubby’s clothes after spaghetti night LOL. We get ours at Toys R Us but you can find it at Wal Mart too. Now the only trick at this point since you’ve already washed it and applied heat to remove the stain it is pretty set. If it is on a white shirt I would just get a Qtip and apply straight bleach to the stain. That is about all you can at this point — if it’s not and it’s a kids shirt — don’t worry they are expected to have stains lol. But I’m afraid it may not come off. Once a shirt is washed and dried or heat applied it sets the stain. Good luck
