Removing year old pet stain from carpet?

best stain removercleaning suppliesjanitorial suppliesremoving stains

I’ve had this stain thats been in my carpet for about a year. It’s conveniently placed under my couch, so I haven’t really though much of it.

My lease is up in alittle over a month, and I need to get this stain out. Any suggestions?

I realize it may take weeks of soaking but I’m prepared to do that.

Shaving Cream will remove the stain. This sounds strange but it works.

Dampen the stain with water. Scrub in some Shaving Cream…any brand is fine as long as it’s white shaving cream. Then clean with damp cloths until the stains are gone.

Shaving cream is nothing but whipped soap that rinses easily. The last thing you want to use on carpet is a sudsy soap…you’d never get the suds out. Shaving cream removes most stains like magic.

Plus it smells really clean. :)

Really, just oxyclean, or some places let you rent a steam-cleaner. Good luck, and yes, constant scrubbing will take the stain away, but may form mildew if not dried.

Before you spend a fortune on products try this.

HOT water (1 quart) 1 cup WHITE vinegar and some dish detergent (Dawn is recommended) Get a scrub brush do not soak the carpet!! Scrub and blot dry by standing on an old towel Get as much moisture as you can out of the carpet then let it dry…When it dries completely ( 48 hours) then have at the spot again.

Soaking the carpet will make mold. Wetting it to much will bring gross stuff up that is embedded in the carpet…you want to make the surface clean and presentable. You will never completely get rid of a pet spot until you get rid of the carpet. The best you can do is clean the fibers on top.

Build a time machine, go back to the day it happened and get rid of your pets.

    Steam clean the carpet.
