Saddle soap not working on leather for water stain.?

I thought this would work. I rubbed in the saddle soap and the stain is not disappearing. Am I doing something wrong or can I try something else?

    Water Stain Removal from Leather Upholstery
    condensation from a glass, can easily be treated with clean water. In this case, a stain results because water has dried in the middle of a piece of leather, leaving a clear line of separation. Wet the entire area out to a seam or edge. Soak a new sponge in a bowl of room temperature water. Wring it as dry as possible. Start at the spot of the water stain, dampening the leather until you reach the edges of the cushion. Wet the leather less and less as you get further from the water spot. Do not scrub, just wipe. Condition the leather after it has dried. Other liquid stains can be treated in the same manner, but may require professional treatment.

    I was watching a tv cleaning program yesterday and they were cleaning a leather sofa with Dove bar soap. Using a wet cloth rub the dove soap onto the cloth and then wash the area rinse with clean cloth and dry with soft cloth . It is worth a try .

    If your stain is in the leather (ie. has absorbed into the leather) then cleaning will not bring it out and saddle soap will probably have made it worse. Saddle soap should not be used on leather furniture as it is too harsh a product and can lead to problems. On non absorbent leathers water would not normally leave a stain so it will have been caused by something else.

    Try damping down the whole panel with a foam water based leather cleaner and then dry with a hairdryer. If this does not work then there are technical problems and you will need to consult a qualified technician.
