Section 8 Housing: Do I owe for carpet repair due to uncontrolable blood stain?

Due to a medical condition, my sister fell and was unable to move until emergency aid arrived. The blood stained a large portion of the carpet. The landlord refuses to replace the carpet which I think is a health hazard. Carpet cleaners were unable to remove the stain. Should the landlord be responsible

since it seems you have to clean the blood out i would suggest using clorox 2 it’s a color safe bleach. it comes in a blue bottle. take and pour some on the carpet and just let it sit and bubble for at least five minutes it will break down the bloodstain then scrub with scrub brush then blot up with a damp towel. you may have to repeat this a few times but clorox 2 works wonders on blood, grass and wine stains.

if hot water has not been applied this stain should be able to be removed with hydrogen-peroxide. just pour on and blot up with towel

Honestly, that is a hard question better answered by a lawyer or the tenant-landlord association. Although the answer may be that your sister/you are responsible for the damages, but as I said, contact a lawyer or go online to the tenant/landlord association for help, they know about all that.

if the accident was the fault of the tenant the responsiblity lies on the tenant. for example, if you had a flood due to faulty pipes then the landloprd or property owner must do the reepair or replace/ clean carpet . if it happened b/c the plumbing company found toiletries (personal/otherwise) , the tenant would be responsible…sorry, i’ve been there

    you are responsible.

Sorry but that is not normal wear and tear on the carpet so you are responsible. I do realize it was accidental but if you accidentally hit a car you still have to pay because you are the responsible one.

Try pouring oxyclean and water onto the carpet and scrubbing it.
