Ok so the wood is mahogany and it cost about 400o dollars. :(
My mom doesn’t know because it’s a really big stain. I’m only 12 and what can I do? I’m sooooooo scared to tell her! Please help. Does mr. Clean magic eraser work? How can I get a product that works without letting my mom know?
I meant to type 00
The sparkles are the thing that’s left though. Not the clolour. But it’s really big!!

Goof Off removes paint, ink, glue, etc…. They sell it at home centers for about $5. The first answerer was right though. You’d have to be very careful with it. It could also take the finish off the wood. So you dab just a little bit on and wipe it off real fast and see if it works. Keep a wet rag nearby to wipe it real clean. Goof Off will definitely remove just about anything, you just have to be careful it doesn’t remove the finish of the dresser. Start slow with it.

The other idea is to tell your parents and let them handle it. I think that is what they would really like you to do. That way the problem doesn’t get any worse. Hopefully, they will be understanding. People spill stuff all the time. Your parents have spent a lifetime spilling stuff. If you don’t tell them and you do mess up the dresser, then they will find out eventually. Then, they might be a little mad.

I’ve heard real good things about Mr Clean Magic Eraser and also Goo Gone. I haven’t tried either though.

    Good luck.

I hate to tell you this, but there is nothing you can do. Do not put any other product on there as it could damage the wood permanently. The best thing you can do is admit it, take the punishment and let your mom save the cabinet. IF you take any other cleaning product to it, the problem will just get worse. She can have it refinished now, but if you persist she may always have a stain. She will forgive you in time…Mistakes happen.

i have a way to fix it but seeing as your only 12 i don’t think it’ll work for you. i’ll tell you anyways, just in case. the only think that you can do i is to get a can of wood stain at home depot they come in all colors including mahogany. there are however two things wrong with this. one, you have to be 18 or older to buy it and two, you really need to know what your doing or you could really mess it up even worse. so my advice is to tell your mom, but in order to soften the blow, maybe offer to help pay for the cost to fix it, not only would it show that you are taking responsibility for your actions by owning up, it also shows just how sorry you are. this is the best thing to do…trust me I’ve been in many situations like this when i was your age and I’m sure she’ll understand that it was an accident. good luck.

Well, um.That is hard to answer.I would tell her the truth but if u want try this: Go to ur mom but go to her all like crying & stuff.Tell her the truth while crying. Then, say "I’m so sorry I cant to anything right!!!!" That always work for me!But if ur sure that that won’t work then cover it p with something or if it’s all one color get paint & color it.Or u could always tell the truth.

Sorry but (without seeing the stain) it sounds like the nail polish may be on there pretty thick. If it is a $4000-dollar piece you really should tell your mother because you may make it worse by applying any products. Nail polish remover will almost definitely ruin the surface. Try calling a local furniture shop or antique dealer and desribe in more detail how much of the nail polish is actually on the surface. Your mother, after she yells at you, can probably get it refinished by a craftsman specializing in fine furniture. Accidents happen and she should forgive you, besides, if she can afford to spend $4000 on a piece of furniture then a repair such as this shouldn’t be too bad. Have a professional look at it! Be very careful with nail polish – it ruins a lot of things!

Don’t attempt any fix on that piece. It is an extremely easy fix for a professional refinisher. Tell your mom and you will be better off for it in the long run.
