Thinking that it was closed, I lifted the polish up by its lid and accidentally spilled dark blue polish on my sister’s beige carpet/rug. They’re not huge stains, but I need help. I tried spot shot (good day for the spray to get stuck :] ) and I tried hairspray. I don’t have acetone.

Why does nail polish remover(acetone) remove permanent marker stains?

I’m doing a science project and I’d like to know why acetone is able to remove permanent marker stains. Also, it’ll be great if you can give me the chemical formula too =D

i was painting my nails and i got some nail polish on my dress and so i tried to use acetone to remove it. Unfortunately, that just made the stain worse. do you have any advice on how to remove the stain on my dress?

I spilt bright orange nail polish on my black jeans, down the thigh area and want to know a way to remove the stain. I’ve tried acetone but it doesn’t seem to be working!
