Tiny spot of mold on carpet… and stain?

Well at my sisters apartment I had realize a drink was spilled after moving some furniture and I beleive I may have seen a few tiny spots of mold… It must have been sitting there for awhile unnoticed.. so I quickly tried cleaning it with some detergant as thats all I had.. anyway I also got some natural cleaning stuff my mother had… I added to it later… I do believe it has been removed out of the carpet… but now I still have this big stain to worry about also… I have a shampoo machine.. which I will try tomorrow… any advice? Can only work with what I have… so please keep it as close to what a have any other household things I could use… to make sure the mold and stain could be removed…

One more think sometimes after I have shampooed the rug… of a stain after awhile a hint of it comes back… how do I stop that from happening?

You don’t say what color the carpet is but if it’s a light color and the stain does not come out try a bit of bleach in the water. My friend and I have used that trick many times without damaging the carpet. Test always on an inconspicuous spot first. The mold should not return in any case but you can add a preventative to the water to prevent any mold spores that try to return. It is available from the manufactures of the rental machines. If all else fails, call a pro.
